Street Care and Cleaning

The council has a duty to maintain acceptable levels of cleanliness on public highways and public land under its control. This duty forms the basis of the council's street cleansing service, which includes litter picking and road sweeping.
This service is delivered through a mix of routine and reactive cleansing carried out by both mechanical and manual means.
