Left unchecked, environmental crimes such as littering, graffiti, fly-posting, nuisance vehicles, dog fouling and fly-tipping, can quickly blight local neighbourhoods and contribute to an environment where other crime and disorder can proliferate.
The Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005 has brought together a wide range of powers to enable local authorities to tackle crimes that impact on the quality of the local environment.
